Our last Happy Hour at Flametree was so much fun, that we were looking forward to a return visit.

We weren't disappointed, as the park owners had done another great job of promoting the event before our arrival. In spite of a change in the weather, which bought clouds and drizzle, a lovely crowd joined in the fun. It was a mix of nomads, backpackers and even a family from Brisbane who had travelled to the Whitsundays to celebrate their daughter's wedding.

They are obviously a close family. The wedding was held at beautiful Daydream Island on Wednesday and they were all holidaying together!

One of our Happy Hour guests is celebrating his birthday on Sunday and took an aerobatic flight over Airlie Beach this morning as a gift from his wife. We witnessed the flight from the foreshore and agreed that he may have regretted having enjoyed as many drinks as he had!

Dianne and Rod Johnson were spotted in the park with Follow the Sun bumper stickers on their van and have won a Waeco Cool Ice icebox for their efforts. We only have 4 more iceboxes to give away before our tour ends on the 15th September at Broadwater Tourist Park on the Gold Coast.

On that day, we'll be reunited with the other Dometic Follow the Sun Ambassadors for a big celebration and are looking forward to seeing some of the wonderful people we've been fortunate to meet on our journey. If you are on or near the Gold Coast, why not come along for a final hurrah, with free drinks, food and prizes, plus the chance to meet Brooke Hanson and see Tommo the Bush Cook in action.

We have moved just down the road from Flametree and are looking forward to another happy Airlie Beach Happy Hour this afternoon here at Island Gateway Holiday Park at 5pm. You don't have to be a park guest to join in, so why not come along?
