Having managed to avoid markets so far on our journey, my luck ran out
and so it was off with Lorraine and the kids to the street markets on
the Airlie Beach foreshore this morning.

There was a wide range of craft, handmade jewellry and fresh produce
on offer and it was a relaxing way to spend our last moments before
the short drive to Bowen. On our approach to Bowen, disaster struck when our van was hit by a
giant falling mango. No serious damage was caused and we were able to
continue our journey.

On arriving at Harbour Lights Caravan Park we found a couple of fellow
travellers displaying a Follow the Sun sticker on their vehicle. John
and Rosemary MacKenzie are our latest winners, scoring themselves a
great limited edition Follow the Sun Cool Ice Icebox.Don't tell me where to go! My HEMA Waeco road atlas will show me the
way.We have a number of Caravan World subscriptions to give away thanks to
Trader Magazine, one of the Follow the Sun promotion sponsors. We'd
like one of those!

After our Dometic Happy Hour, Adam and Amanda, the park operators,
continued the fun, hosting a sausage sizzle by the pool aided by Sue
on the BBQ tools. It was well attended by the park guests. The kids
swam, the adults mingled and was a great way to end a top afternoon.

If you are in the region and missed today's Happy Hour, don't worry,
you can join us at the Bowen Village Caravan Park tomorrow, Sunday 1st
August at 4pm.
