Keeping the kids entertained on long hauls

120 Watt 8ZED power inverter
Keeping the kids entertained on long drives can be difficult unless you have prepared for it. For younger children coloring books and the like can keep them occupied for a time. Having a Frisbee or a ball to throw around at rest stops can help release restless energy. Some good ideas for driving games are listed here, and should help break up the monotony while keeping all occupants involved

.
I have found that as the kids grow older, it takes more effort to keep them occupied. Today’s younger generation also want to be plugged in – to their Ipod, CD and DVD players, PC games and the like. The only problem here can be when the batteries start to fade – and batteries aren’t getting any cheaper these days.
One solution is to plug a power inverter into your cars cigarette lighter plug and run these appliances off your cars battery. As your vehicles battery is self charging while you drive, it has no impact on your batteries performance, and does not interfere with the load from air conditioning or other vehicle electronics.
An
120 Watt 8ZED inverter
sells for $24.95 and will power CD and DVD players as well as Laptop PCs and mobile phones saving a lot of future dollars on batteries. For game consoles and MP3 chargers you may need to move up to the
300 Watt 8ZED inverter
($44.50) to ensure sufficient charge.
I will tell you that I work for the Performance
Shop
, but that said, I seriously would not want to be on a long road haul with out one. These little guys also store either in your glove compartment or under a seat.
