TURBOCHARGER

Within the Turbo industry the word genuine is used slightly differently to the Automotive Aftermarket Industry.

To break it down:

There are 5 major manufacturer's of turbochargers worldwide (Tier One):

BorgWarner, Garrett, Holset, Mitshubishi Heavy Industries and IHI

Some other manufacturer's include (Tier Two):

Toyota, Mahle and Hitachi

These manufacturers supply turbochargers to the Original Equipment Manufacturers (eg. Nissan, Holden, Mack, CAT etc) and also to the aftermarket.

Example:
Honeywell Garrett manufacture and supply to Nissan the GT 2052V turbocharger that is factory fitted to the ZD30 3.0L Nissan Patrol.

The indentical turbocharger is also supplied through the Authorised Garrett Independant Aftermarket Distributor network, e.g. Denco Diesel & Turbo. (eg. Denco Diesel)

So whether purchased or fitted through the OEM Network (Nissan, Holden, Mack, CAT etc) or through the independant aftermarket network (eg. Denco Diesel) the turbocharger is the same and is still GENUINE.

Beware of copy turbochargers that can cause extensive damage to your engine .... Read more on Why Buy Genuine? http://www.australianturbo.com.au/?p=163
