Portable fridgs
Submitted: Monday, Oct 16, 2000 at 00:00
Michael
I am confused by all the manufactures hype in regard to their particular portable fridgs.
I have an off road tent trailer with a box mounted on the draw bar for a fridg.
I am looking for any advice in regard to good and/or bad experiences by brand.
I am looking for a 60ltr model.

replied: I HAVE OWNED AN AUTOFRIDGE FOR FIVE YEARS NOW AND HAVE FOUND IT EXCELLANT.LOW VOLTAGE DRAW.VERY SPACIOUS AS THERE IS NO COOLING FINS ETC INSIDE LIKE THE ENGELS.ONLY RUN IT TWICE A DAY TO KEEP THINGS FROZEN. AT RECENT
SIMPSON DESERT
CROSSING IT OUTPERFORMED THE OTHER FIVE FRIDGES IN THE CONVOY WHICH INCLUDED TWO ENGELS A CHESTCOLD WHICH ALL REQUIRED BAGS OF ICE TO HELP THEM STAY COLD DURING 45 DEGREE HEAT. BELIEVE ME AUTOFRIDGES ARE THE BEST ON THE MARKET AND THEY ARE BUILT HERE IN

replied: Michael,
Go for one of two things... an Engel in a bag (this is a must have).... or a well built box with a Danfoss refrigeration unit.
Steve.
