Camper trailer suspensios

G'day one & all,
Would like to pick the brains of the more knowlegable out there.Have had a look @ independent coil spring suspensions offered by Withers Eng,[used by Ultimate], and the system used by Kanga Campers.Both impressive, especially the replaceable stub axles on the Kanga. How have people who have these units found them to be? Any issues with either? Would there be any other systems that may be better?Would be grateful for any imformation on the above or contacts for other systems. Electric or cable operated brakes?

I'd go with hydraulic overide brakes.
Trailer parts in W.A. have an independant setup for around $1200. Look on page 51 of the catalog.

Hey Bucky I'll back you up on the vote for the Trak Shak suspension.

It was developed by the original owner of the company mine has been bouncing around Oz for 10 years now. I have replaced the shock absorber bushes twice and the shockies themselves once.

i would look at air suspension on the trailer makes the suspension capable of carrying any load ie with or without the tinny on top etc. and riding perfectly, am considering putting it on my KK.

Track Trailers MC2 suspension is undoubtably the best.

As far as brakes go, I would steer clear of over-ride brakes as you have no control going down slippery hills, if you must have over-ride then mechanical disc is the way to go.
Most people are happy with the standard electric drum brake system, as you have some control over the braking from within the vehicle.
The best system is electric/hydraulic discs, but you certainly pay for it.
