Does anyone know the current condition of the Balladonia - Esperance road? It used to be dirt and pretty well 4 wheel drive only but last time I was on it, it was being built up, presumably to seal it? Any knowledge gratefully accepted.

On Tues 3/10/00 we travelled this route. The 73km from Balladonia RH down to Parmango Rd is very corrugated and speeds were typically 20km/hr, mostly for comfort reasons (Patrol). However, route is passable for 2WDs. The last few kms there were parallel tracks (sign said "temporary track") - alternate paths, both in similar condition. But once turning right onto Parmango Rd (130km to Condingup) the road is in VERY good condition, graded smooth and speeds of 80-100km/hr ok.
