Hi everyone...we are heading west as of next week & will be travelling with the in laws that have two doggies. We really want to do the Horizontal Falls & sounds like going from
Broome would be gr8. Does anyone know of anywhere we can leave these two doggies. Regards Gertie

As far as taking the doggies on the trip, there will be significant restrictions to put up with.
You cannot take dogs into any of the National Park areas or Aboriginal lands, so visiting many scenic attractions may have a marked impact on the enjoyment of the trip.
Best to leave the dogs at
home I think.
My research has so far revealed that tours to the horizontal Falls are more accessible from
Derby, rather than
Broome. (I am planning a trip next year to the
Kimberley and will be leaving our mutt at
home.)

Broome is a great place for dogs. The issue is limited Kennels and non dog friendly caravan parks.

Hi Gertie.
No doubt WA was and still can be a difficult place to travel and see when in the company of our four legged friends. This is especially true in the south-west due to the high number of National Parks as pointed out by Sandman.
I think however some attitudes are beginning to change and things are improving.
We are doing a
Kimberley trip for 5 weeks in September this year. We shall be taking along our two girls (Jack Russells). We are going to Lake Argyle/Darwin/GRR/El Questro/
Broome to name a few. The only place at the moment that we can't take the doggies is the Bungle Bungles. We have however been told that we can board them in Kunnunara. This isn't a problem, as for the Bungles we'll be based at
Lake Argyle and tripping from there, doing an
overnight camp in the tent once in the National Park. The other half has booked our
Broome Caravan park which is pet friendly. If you need the details I'll get them from her this evening.

Thank you that wud be gr8...we won't be taking them into the national parks so thankfully that is not a problem...just need the occasional babysitter & the odd pet friendly park ...Gertie

Sand Man is on the money.
No dogs in the parks, and this year Rangers are going to hammer the issue, as in the past it has been overlooked or tolerated. Councils and landowners are now demanding visitors respect the law, regardless of how or why it exists. With the greater demand on the land by visitors, and increasing demand for cleanups, and maintenance due to the higher volume, someone will be picking up the costs.
So animals, vehicle safety, alcohol and speed are going to be targetted.
Guess how the revenue will be raised.....
