Hi all,

Is this panel the best bargain going around?

bbuzz,
Still 3 days of bidding to go, but if you got it for that plus postage, it certainly would be a bargain.

Hmm his feedback is a bit unflattering:

"200w auction, panel received measures only 160w, all 3 messages ignored, beware"

There are two ways to express the wattage of solar panels. One (NOCT) used by engineers, the other(SoC) by marketing types.

SoC is usually what is advertised - you'll only get about 70% of that.

More info in this article, especially Part 2

Feed back when I looked was 100%. It makes you wonder when that changes.

It's a bit crook that there are no detailed specs on the ebay item.
I am very wary when someone lists a technical product without the means to check whether the description matches the specs.

Yeh Good if you can get it for that price. Have a look when there is 5 mins to go. Might be a bit different then.

Maybe, maybe not...........

Fair Trading Public Warning

I have no idea if this is one of George's many aliases, but looking at the feedback (check the neg!), I'd be willing to make a small wager that it is....

Personally, I wouldn't touch this one with a barge pole (YMMV)

95.5% feedback, 20 transactions: I would stay well away from them.

If you feel like following up then ask what its dimensions are, then you can calculate its approximate output.
watts = Length x width x 0.15 /10

The 0.15 comes from the efficiency of a standard solar panel. Length and width in cm.
