Fitted sheets for <span class="highlight">caravan</span> mattress

Buy KING size and tuck them under. If they dislodge there must be a reasonable amount of activity happening above.

Actually this topic is a P.I.T.A for me. I have a rooftop Maggi, and the mattress size is somewhere between Single & Double - if I use a single fitted, the corners curl up, if I use double, the sheet comes loose from every direction....

Anyone know if there's a "one and one half" fitted ???

Once upon a time people had sewing machines and could create and modify fabrics to suit their needs. Sadly, this skill seems to be passing away.

For the mattress in our Troopy we took a pair of flat sheets and sewed the lower one into a fitted sheet to suit the mattress size.
The upper sheet was sewed to become fitted at the foot only so that it remains firmly in place at all times.

Cultivate a friend with a sewing machine. Use a nice smile and have a box of chocolates ready.

Caravan Queen size tends to be a bit smaller than standard, especially with the cut away corners. I couldn't be bothered making or altering sheets but just bought a decent quality (not skimpy) double fitted sheet for the bottom and a Queen size flat sheet for the top. Works perfectly - the bottom sheet is pulled nice and firm and stays in place and the top sheet has plenty of tuck in. Linen shops often sell sheets individually, especially at sale times. Lynne

As our caravan QS mattress is the same as the one at home, sheets are no problems, however here is another optionSuncraft Shades for custom made sheets to the link given above for custom made sheets.

Alternatively, purchase sheeting lengths from a fabric store, and if neither of you sew, offer the job to a housewife with a sewing machine in your street.

All my neighbours know it's the man of my house who has the sewing machine!!
He has a welder, a motorbike and a Janome!!

PS: Those who work in housekeeping in hotels swear by flat sheets. It's all we use at home now. I got sick of the elastic going saggy long before the sheets died...

I was frustrated with the skinny foam and narrow single beds in our van because normal singles would move around to much and look untidy. Sheesh it must be a womanly frustration. We had some brilliant ones made up from Quicksales They have elastic all the way around and are snug fitting. I'm looking at getting some flannelette ones now too. Brrrr.

Bonz, (o witty one!!) it only counts if your motorbike does hems and zippers as good as hubby's Janome does!
