Happy Easter everyone, we are looking at doing the lap on a working break next year and were wondering what way is the best to do the west, up or down, I said depending on the time we leave on what way we go, would that be a fair comment . We live on the Sunshine Coast and were hoping to head off about a year from now give or take a month. Anyone's comments welcome.
Cheers Pete

Hi Pete

Direction makes no difference. The season does. Due to heat an cyclonic weather patterns, the north is best in the winter months, as in any northern state. The south of WA may be cold for some in winter, but it is at its prettiest, whereas it is dry and drab in summer, but a better climate for camping.

What MH said, as usual good advice.
Also if you time your trip to start at the top in winter and hit the Murchison (middle area roughly) in spring you will be treated to a good wildflower show. How good depends on how good a rainy season they have. The wildflower season progresses South as the season progresses so if you have the time you could get the best of the various areas.
