I just spoke to the Lions Den Hotel and asked what the track is like. They said very muddy and slippery, they said some 4wd are getting through but they would not advise it.I rang the Cooktown information centre to ask about the PDR and the guy said it is open but muddy. He said you would want a high clearance 4wd to do it.I explained my car and he said wait a couple of days and hope we dont get any rain. Both places were very helpful.Ihope this information helps someone.Bye all

Thanks Stuart & Gunny, we've currently got a caution on that road in our Road Conditions report, but it would be great to have your comment added there so others looking it up will see it, if they miss it in the Forum. I'll given the exact page in the link above. Cheers,

We have just come down the PDR from the tip and it is as flat as a sealed road north of Archer River but with still some cautionary areas. South of Archer a little rougher but we averaged 80 kph nearly all the way down. Bloomfield is still a concern, some are getting though but we were advised against it withe the Kedron on the back. Lots of roadworks and mud north of the river.

Cheers
Merv

Hey mate
Im from cairns. My mrs works in wujal and drives a stock standed prado along the bloomfield track every week by herself. You'll be fine. Check tide times for the area as the bloomfield river can only be crossed at low tide at the moment. I just drove from cairns to bamaga for work. The PDR is in good condition no worries what so ever.

Do you mean the CREB instead of the Bloomfield?
