These items were stolen from our vehicle while visiting
Hervey Bay.
Please, on your travels, if you see or hear anything relating to these
stolen items please inform

Toshiba Satellite LC750 Laptop Computer - Serial Number 7B544833W
Silver
Grey coloured lid.
Was in black Cordura laptop bag with charger and some accessories.
Olympus Micro-9000 Digital Camera - Serial Number H24502795
Black. Was in
grey padded Kathmandu pouch with belt loop.
Charger was not taken.
Pivotel Iridium Satellite Phone - Serial Number IMEI300115010370100
Black. Maybe still in fitted leather belt holster.
Was in a brown Emirates in-flight zipped purse with chargers.
Phone has been barred so cannot be used.

I loathe thieving scum of the Earth . . . can the coppers track the sat phone at all ?
Suppose it would have been turned off anyway.
Hope you get your gear back, and it would be really super if the mongrels got caught and actually punished properly.
Has HB got a Crime Converters (Cash Converters) outlet or other Pawn shops ??
If so, would be worth a browse apparently.

Nothing was visible from outside. Vehicle was locked and right outside our cabin at Windmill
Caravan park. They forced a rear sliding window on my troupie and reached in to open the driver's door. Very professional job, they knew exactly where to look for hidden things, even replacing stuff to make it look like nothing was disturbed. We never normally leave anything of value in the car overnight but let our guard down once and got bitten badly. Everyone be warned - these guys are good at what they do!!

Sliding windows are a gift to thieves, you have to secure them by installing something like a piece of wood or metal that jams them from sliding, or by screwing mesh to the inside.
I lost a Canon camera one night in '94 when a thief forced one of the rear sliding windows on my 80 series.
He slid it back again and locked it, and I didn't even notice the camera was gone until a couple of days later.
Luckily it was an old Canon - it was around 25 yrs old, and probably worth more as an antique!
The small rear side windows in king cabs/space cabs, and quarter-vent windows are the same - they might as
well write on them, "smash me", from the factory! I'd be wealthy if I had a dollar for every one of them I saw smashed!

Thanks to everyone that suggested using the find stolen camera service and especially to Gav who sent me some links via member mail - unfortunately I messed up the reply and then couldn't reply directly.
I'll wait a week or so for the next "user" of my camera to start up then give it a try. Just to be clear though, it doesn't work for Facebook posts which seems like a big hole. Here's a quote from the stolencamerafinder web site... "Unfortunately, Facebook strip out the EXIF data when photos are uploaded which means stolencamerafinder is unable to search it. We hope in future that they will retain this data so that the photos can also be indexed."
I'll post again if my camera shows up using this service.... Cheers, TB
