7 Seat Softroader and third row seat child restraints

Pretty confident the wife's subaru tribeca has a couple. I recall fitting a booster seat to the back row a couple of times.
Bit sad that these things aren't a bit more standardised.

That might be because modern parents sometimes leave their children in the car, and when they are right up the back they can easily be forgotten. Harder to get to as well.

So in the interest of child care, the rear position may not be seen as the best overall care for children requiring such restraint systems.

Not sure what state you are in, in QLD aftermarket points can be fitted, it will require a an inspection and blueplat.

It's not practical to have small children that need restraints in the very back row. As a parent I would not like to be stretching through the back doors to buckle a child in the very back.
My sister-in-law has 5 kids in an eight seater van. The three that need restraints are in the middle row. The older two go in the very back and two parents in the front.

My advice is. Even if you have a vehicle with restraints in the back. Save your spine and don't put child seats in the very back.

As to the comments on the wisdom of putting kids in the back - it is not the everyday option (why would it be ;-) but it is most certainly the only option on day trips when elderly parents will occupy the second row. That is the eventuality that need to be planned for.

I can only confirm that there is no 3rd row seat anchors in my 2012 CX9. It is easy to get to the 3rd row though, as the 2nd row is easily moved, the whole base seat slides forward so you can actually step in. You can do it with one hand.
