Has anyone travelled it lately? Would like to know if it is unsealed and what condition it is in. Could be going through there soon with a 20 foot van and BT50 4x4

Hi Brad. We were looking at going that way ourselves. But just talked to the man at the Alpha caravan park. He said that people with a high van and 4x4 came through last week and it took them 3 hrs. to do the trip. Also said anyone with a low car would not get through. Cheers Brian.

The Google Maps street view car has not driven it. Possibly has something to say about the route.

we did it in early July with offroad van - there were no challenges. Road mostly dirt, and deteriorates gradually towards Clermont. It would have been quite do-able with an on-road van provided you are prepared to slow down for rough patches.

All you need to do is look at the BRC [ Barcy regional Council ] web site / road conditions ; currently Alpha - Clermont "open to all vehicles " …… that said only will change if rain ,,,
