I'm thinking of purchasing a Mean Mother Edge series winch - 12,000lbs with dynema rope. Interested on any good/bad feedback on this brand.

Munji, much as I hate to steer any where but EO, there is a great thread on another forum about low-cost winches and in particular their warrantees (or lack thereof).

Some food for thought.

Try and stay away from synthetic ropes, great for comp work but a waste of time and money for normal use.

It's one of those thing that everyone thinks seeing the racing guys and girls use it it must be good...... run it across rocks and kiss goodbye to it.

Comp guys use it for a few reasons like weight saving, no need for a dampener and the most important part speed of use plus they replace the rope regularly.

My son and I both have this winch. Pulled us out of some very sticky places on the Canning Stock Route.

My son uses his a lot more as young fellas tend to do. Not had a problem.

We just bought them on ebay. Had mine for 2 years and my son has had his for 3 years.

No connection with the retailer - just happy customers.

Serendipity.
