Just like to say thanks to all that replied to my info requests just prior to leaving for the C/C. The trip was great and memorable, even though we encountered a few roads with caution 4wd only on them, the advice from the Station owners at Pine View and Border Downs where we stayed was good. Ploughing through mud and sand was not all that bad (137k's in 7hrs). The grader teams were encountered many times along the various routes. They informed us that they were trying to get the Silver City highway repaired quickly as the traffic will be heading towards Birdsville for the races in a couple of weeks. We kept away from the main roads and deviated to as many side roads and tracks as possible. Our trip on return took us through the Sunset Desert from Hattah, then into the Big Desert at Murrayville and onto the Little Desert through to Natimuck. The travelling was slow going along the side tracks, but the main Murrayville to Nhill road was having the last 10k's graded by DEPI , it was like a freeway and easy drive for a 2wd whilst it was dry. Once again thanks from garry and Judy for those who had given input with info
