Great weekend away

Last weekend George M , his mate , and i went for a shake down run before the gathering. I was to meet George in Heyfield at about 11.00am Guess who was late because he took a short cut. I was happily eating a pie and drinking coffee before George turned up.
Off we went towards the Avon track passed Huggets crossing , through the river which was about top of tyre high. We crossed the river 10 times before Georges day got worse. Half way across and George was stuck , with a quick radio message he hit reverse and was stuck again. Now i was wondering who was getting wet , i pulled out my tow rope and hooked up to my Toyota and headed out into the middle of the river where George hopped out and hooked both cars together. A quick pull backwards and George was back on hard dry ground , both doors were opened and 100mm deep water rushed out . Not quite deep enough to loose the electronics .
I have been up this track about 20 times,and i think it is the best condition ever, except for the hundred or so trees across the road , some to be driven over and some to be driven around , but all in good fun.

Where are the photos? You and George with the floaties on...People would pay good money to see that!

There are only pictures from Georges car ....but the water is very cold at the moment so there wouldn't be much to see....

Will have to teach him to climb out the window instead of opening the door Muz - the kids do that all the time.
P.S. Just lifing carpets so they don't touch floor but without fully removing them and using a couple of fan heaters has been enough for us to dry things out without rot setting in.

Hmmmm - I'd been across that particular crossing a dozen times, and the water was only knee deep.
Half way across I ran out of rocks, and the vehicle hit a bank of silt and sank to the belly plate. Muzbry to the rescue.
It was a bit of excitement to my mate Sat - this was his first trip off the bitumen, and he was a little perplexed by the water flowing into the foot wells. Muzbry and I now have our ugly faces all over India.

Sounds like a good trip...mother is hassling me for a trip up around the high country...
How would an f250 fit around that area???
Quite happy to swag it but not much sense if the wagon is not suitable..
Your thoughts???

It might be a bit tight Michael, but you can bring your own chain saw. There are a couple of trees not moved and one has to navigate around the stump end , i think that might be the only one that will give you a problem.. Give me a call when ready and ill get a group together for the weekend then set you on your way to higher parts of the country....
