Hi to all looking to buy a hard floor camper trailer
I live in Adelaide not that many trailers to see
seems that there are lots of chinese campers out
there.there is a new trailer place opened up and
they sell Mars campers so went down there and
had a look at them the one I looked at was the
Extremo xhf -14 seems to be made well but iam
no trailer expert. The guy said they are made
very well just as good as Australian product I don't
know about that, but what I saw seems to be good
is there anybody out there who has this camper
and if so could give some feed back this camper
will be used on dirt tracks and normal roads maybe
later some heavy off road work later

Need a new keyboard first. Makes it hard to read with all those broken keys leaving out the reading aids.

They look pretty good all the fruit without the price shocks as well which will help the camper survive rough roads from shaking it to pieces and if it doesn't have enough clearance to suit your off road driving you might even be able to do a spring over axle conversion to gain 3 to 4 inches more clearance. I would lean the stone deflector a little more forward but they look good over all.

Stan, I have one of these Mars Hard Floor Campers. Purchased March 2012. Since purchasing I have added power internally and externally, have sealed the underneath and have added an extra 2 jerry can holders for fuel. We have traveled to Mungo NP, Broken Hill, The Otways, Renmark, Hall's Gap, Flinders Rangers, Carnarvan Gorge Qld, Mount Gambier and all in between. Mostly staying at Caravan Parks. Some dirt roads. The Camper seemed to handle the road conditions to date and we are very happy with ours, and for the price $5-$6k good value. Our biggest test starts this Saturday. We are travelling from Ballarat to Cameron's Corner which will take us on a number of unsealed roads and 4 National Parks. Will give you all a report on how the Camper went when we return. I live in Adelaide too and yes there is not much here to look at ,I looked at the Mars as well ,but I decided on the MDC Voyager .A lot better build IMHO , than the Mars, extra heavy independent suspension, all the bells and whistles that you need , galvanised chassis ,stainless steel kitchen 3 jerry can holders , two gas bottles, huge storage capacity , about same price as well , also you can get it in three colours and because it is made of steel it will look better longer ,also the interior is all lined , the aluminium checker plate gets very dull after weathering and cannot be cleaned as easily is why I did not like it.Have just come back from Gawler Ranges and I am very pleased with the handling ,rode well on the rough tracks

We are looking for one of those as well, but for Cruizer FF.
We have a concern about tyres. They are made in Indonesia and mag-wheels made who knows where. Is that's why you must have 2 spares?, so you wouldn't get stranded "in middle of nowhere"?

Most of the tyres used in Australia are from Asian countries ,on cars trucks ,4 WD ,and having two spares with the same stud pattern as the tow vehicle means you do not have to carry an extra one for the tug ,which can be APIA finding somewhere to put it which is usually on the rear of vehicle ,makes it hard to access back of vehicle .If you want well known steel belted radials they will fit them ,at an extra cost .The old adage is if carry extra of anything and so be prepared ,you will not need it .

Thing is, that most of good quality real 4WD tyres and rims are NOT made in Asia.
I have real 4WD – Troopy VDJ78R. It has a 5-stud pattern and Australian Sunraysia steal rims.
Hubs on trailer are wrong; my rig has a double wheel carrier, as you would have on a proper off road set-up. To have another 2 spares on trailer is overdone.
I asked MDC if they would change hubs and yes, they would. They asking $2000,~ only for changing the hubs, no re-fund for what is there now. I can’t bring my own wheels they will supply them. Two spares on back must stay, as MDC have not carrier for one wheel only.
I didn’t ask about price of wheels, since unreal price for hubs took my breath away.
So, that is my dilemma ……..

Hi Stan ,the reason I asked about the towing vehicle is the tow ball weight ,which is around 290 Kgs and with the offroad campers designed to exit creeks the wheels are at the rear end ,more so than some campers . The other fact with this camper is it is built very strong ,so hence the weight is heavier ,but I have looked at others and they IMHO are too light for off road . I got mine from MDC at 1138 Port Wakefield Road Burton and Kevin is the manager there, and they have quite a few to look at ,or Google MDC and have a look online.

Thanks for that just came back from there, 3weeks waiting period for
the voyager rf v4 seems to built very well and very solid lots of trailer
for the money. Thanks for your help and advice
