Hey all you caravan experts, in need of some opinions
Got an opportunity to buy a 98 Regent Legend van.
19' with separate toilet and shower.
Showing its age but not too bad. Chassis is great, not a sign of rust.

Anyone have experience with these?
Good van in their day or not?

Thanks

Always been a quality van - what type of suspension does it have?

Has rocker suspension.
Leaf springs are over axle so I presume a previous owner has done that.

Regent use Control Rider suspension in some of their vans but although they are generally well put together, this appears to have the basic setup. I take it you have googled and looked on caravan sales, trading post etc for comparison?

Hard to find this model on those sites. But have looked for similar size and age vans. There is a huge variation in prices asked.

But asking prices and what you get are two different things, I just sold an similar vintage 4WD and had to drop my pants eventually.

well, family friend or not, just offer what you think it's worth. It's up to them to accept or not, or at least reach a compromise. One thing for sure, as you've just found out, it's not easy selling and even harder getting your asking price. Good luck anyway.

Its private sale from a family member of a friend.
Just trying to work out how much to offer.
Hard to quantify
Was thinking mid teens would be about right?

Mark,
A van of that vintage regardless of make (except the very expensive Bushtracker or similar) would be worth around 15-17K, no more unless it is in really TOP condition.

I'd start at offering 15K and haggle from there, even given the closeness of the relationship.

Disco.
