Hi all,

I am looking at the purchase of a Fujitsu Notebook - LifeBook E4010. Has anyone any experience with Fujitsu's as to reliability etc?

Thanks
Willy

I had one last year, it got stolen and it was replaced with an NEC Versa M300. IMHO the NEC is a much better unit. Smaller, lighter looks better feels stronger.

There was nothing really wrong with the Fuji though.Should probally go do some work instead of playing on this forum!

Fujitsu make good reliable hardware
I am almost sure you will not be able to run anything later than Win98SE on that unit

Fujitsu's are a very nice unit, good quality and reliable but very expensive in comparison to other brands. Have had Toshiba, Acer, Compaq, HP all very good but the trick is not to own one for too long. I usually turn mine over every year before the technology becomes old (read worthless) and the parts become harder to come by.

I went around Oz for 11 months with a Lifebook C6572 PIII-700. Used for
Oziexplorer, Digital pic downloads and the occasional DVD.

I have bumped it round the world for 3 years now and apart from the power
connector on the motherboard failing it has been rock solid.

(I though the connector was a bit of a design flaw, but I fixed it myself no probs)

I have yet to get all the red dust out of it - too much of a momento!

Recommended IMHO.
