Oziexplorer addon - Oziphototool

Been playing around with Oziexplorer for a while and starting to get the hang of it. Like most things it seems the more I use it the easier it gets.

I have come across a great little program to use with OE and it makes it real easy [and accurate] to work out where you take particular digital photographs and actually allows you to embed information on to them [lat/long, date, time etc] by correlating it to the track that you download covering the period that you were taking photos.

In short, if you set the GPS and camera up so they both have the same time and date and then the GPS and camera goe to the same places you can download the information from both devices and the program will match up where you were when you took the photo. It also loads the photo points as waypoints and then when you hover the mouse over the waypoint the picture/s that you took at the location are displayed on the computer.

I am now at the stage where I can exchange waypoint and image files with people who have Oziexplorer and Oziphototools and they can see where I've been and what was there. Without registering you are limited to doing 5 photo's at a time but you can do 5, then 5 more and 5 more and so on and they will all get appended to the file that you save the stuff in. Used it to show the cyclone flooding yesterday and today to friends in Perth and Sydney. If you register the program then you can do unlimited number at once.

Like OE it takes a bit of practice but it gets a whole lot easier the more that you do it. I'm sure that as it develops it will become better but its worth persisting with.

Was a whole lot easier for me once the bloke who wrote the program put some practical exercises on a web site to enable you to follow step by step what he did. I have asked a few questions on the help site and the bloke answers the questions usually within a day.

Makes it easier for people to remember what the view was of and where and if you take lots of photographs it really is worth it.

This is an OziPhotoTool sample web page. The whole web page including the cropped map is automatically made by OziPhotoTool. The later version also allows you to click on the Waypoint labels and not just the symbol points. The freeware version allows you to use up to 5 photographs but for $20 you get unlimited use.

I'm still only getting the default lat/long but no date.

I would appreciate it if you would send me the OPC file thaat you used for this. [It is contained in the inihelp/config file and ends with .opc] It will be the one that you used to configure the photo's on the test page that you put up. I don't get any other information just a setting output for the pics.

Hi this is sort of on subject , I have just added Ozi 3D and the NASSA sat images what a great tool ,the 3D was $40 ,and NASSA sat images $33 for the 2 CD set have a look at them Im very happy now I can see the location and type of terran before I go there99 GU Patrol 4.2 TD
