Broome to Cape Leveque Road

It’s a couple of years since I was up there, but you don’t need 4wd to get to the airport, just take it steady over the corrugations. However if you want nearby accommodation it is going to be off the main road & *may* require 4wd (because of soft sand). I don’t know of any accommodation other than camping. If you are prepared to camp in a basic site (has toilets & a donkey boiler which you have to light for hot water/showers), but alcohol ok - there is Bully’s Camp - turn off the main road on the right immediately past the airstrip. Signposted Bully’s Camp/Djoodoona. Track in is tight in a couple of spots. I’d reckon you might be better to leave your truck at home - height & size may be an issue if wanting to access somewhere like Bully’s.
There are other very pleasant camping options. Whale song on the western side of the Peninsula is outstanding & can cater for you.

The only option I know of is the Kooljaman Resort, it is a bit of a way from Lombadina but mostly bitumen on the main drag, dirt from Broome to Beagle Bay and again heading into Kooljaman. They had accommodation there with fantastic pizzas and big breakfasts, and beer.

D-M, Broom shire council will give you the latest available data on road conditions.

I don't think your 2wd vehicle will be allowed on that road at this time of year. From memory there is a wet season blanket ruling on what is allowed, like weight restrictions.

Anyway just google road conditions for that road and you should be able to see it on the broom council site.
