4wd's in car parks

I see a vehicle parked taking up part of another parking spot.

Guess lots of parking spaces are very tight now so they can meet the minimum number of parks for the building. I just drop the passenger off before parking if it is tight, that seems to solve any problems.

With the CCTV footage I don't think it would be worth trashing the 4wd and also having to pay for his repairs. I am sure that footage would have been used to prosecute the 4wd driver. I guess he just had a brain snap as there may have been a bit of history behind the scenes.

I saw it once on a clearer view. The 2wd is on the line. It is also a left hand drive, so the driver was giving himself room to get out. The dualcab, can be seen at the end with the guy getting out left side.

Yeah, some country where they have the driving position on the LH side which means the 2wd driver did park on the line and left him/her self room to open what would have been the drivers door.

Looking at that footage it also appears that numbnuts in the dual cab could have gone far enough forwards into that bay to open his door without hitting the concrete column.

I hope they found him and hit him for all costs and a damage to property charge.

Easy. The passenger gets out first and then you park. We have done it many times. Especially with the 4WD, to allow room the other side for the next car to move without damaging ours.

its not rocket science and the arrogance of these type of 4wd drivers is what tags everyone behind the wheel of a 4by as to be one and the same
we are not --
most of us are aware of the size of parking lots and how or if we can fit in and then find a more suitable sight which i agree is becoming a greater challenge in every new shopping center i go to

they have been shrunk to suit the micro shopping trolleys that people are buying and are commuting in and that is the mind set with developers same as housing lots its about how many $$$$'s the can squeeze out of each sq meter
there are ignorant idiots in all walks of life form who think they are more important than the other person and that will never change and the blame game and friction will continue unfortunately and so will the tags continue to be applied to those who do the right thing and show respect cheers

The type of vehicle he was driving is irrelevant, is is all about to goon behind the wheel
Carpark sizes and land sizes are not determined by developers. They can only operate within rules and regs set by the govt bodies

True Maybe it would have been better to park the ute somewhere else. Same as walking away from road rage. Leave it be and get on with life.

Then again, maybe the car space should have been wider due to it being against a full wall.

If the 2wd had driven in the there and kept to his marked space the incident would not have happened, as always there is something that starts something else. That space beside the 2wd one may have been allocated to the ute driver and he had just had enough. His call not mine.

As for car park spaces are we talking about small car spaces 2.3m, low turnover spaces at 2.4m, high turnover at 2.5m or disabled at 3.2m. Things do change around the country and it all depends on where you are as to what size parks the council deems ok. Amazing what can happen if you get special permission from the local council, of course that costs you for them to approve it.

The point I was making in response to Mazcan's post is that developers don't make up the rules they only comply with them. Which also includes the amount of disabled parking spots they must provide.
