I have a Coromal Atlas 432RTP Pop top.
Has anyone added an awning to the rear, over the door?
I was thinking of riveting a sail rail on to the roof section and inserting shade cloth or such like with the relevant poles etc.
Anyone done this or recommend what I can do.
Thanks
Ian
PS I had thought a similar ARB awning that I have on my tray back but the hinges would be a problem where the awning has to be horizontal or the hinges will break.

Hi Ian
I have a small rear door van and the previous owner attached sail track and then had sail rope sewn into a tarp, I once did similar for a front awning on another van. However i had a rear bag awning that also goes on the back of a 4wd that I use for the van. The bag cover simply has sail rope sewn into it and I just slide it into the sail track. The poles roll up in the awning.
Any good canvas person will be able to sort something out for you.
Cheers
Ev

Hi Ian, I have an Atlas 567 OR. If you look above your door you will see a channel and all you do is open the left side with a hacksaw and you can run a shade cloth through the channel just like on the roll out awning. Hope this helps as I have done the same on the right side of my van. Regards John L
