I am aware that a lot of you have just been up to LD, and would have dearly loved to have made it myself - had originally planned Simpson Desert crossing for easter and was busily preparing new car for that trip, but alas ---- my dreams have evaporated for the second time ----maybe later in the year (praying for my wife to change her mind now, should work soon, ahh, I can feel that trip coming along in a couple of months), and that is why i am asking for your recent experiences for LD.

I have been through LD before, and am quite capable of planning my own trip through using my maps and experience, but would love to get others opinions from recent experience, as tracks and scenery change remarkably over time ( especially at the moment, following drought throughout that particular region )

Easter is now LD , Border Fence, Big Desert, then home again.

Uncle and I drove to Mt Turner. What a cimb! About ten metres high and even accessible by persons wielding a walking stick. Even got to ring the missus on the CDMA from there.

Thanks Willem thats handy info. You can drive almost to the top of Mt Moffat and CDMA works well from there also. I might do another run across Little Desert during my Easter trip.
