Creb Track

We hope to do the Creb track late July this year on our way to the top. We drive a GU patrol with 2 inch lift. We intend to carry a 2nd spare tyre and a rhino cargo box with a chainsaw and 2 3kg gas bottles inside on the roofrack. I'm concerned with being top heavy on this track. Any advice/experience would be appreciated.

Cheers Joker

mate, you would have to be grossly negligent and ignorant to stuff up a trip along the CREB. You've got probably 60-70 kg up top with the rack. Don't do it in the wet, or reasonable rain the evening before, let it dry a bit.

enjoy it, its a nice drive. I first did it by motorbike in 1983.

Enjoy the trip. It was closed when we went there.

If you can take the Starkie Track from Cooktown north to Cape Melville instead of that boring PDR then you wont be disappointed.

We have done it a couple of times over the years, should not be a problem with your rig, but as said, keep an eye on the weather. Towie is the one to reply to this, bit of a guru up that way.
