Can any one tell me if a Warn wireless remote control can be modified to operate an older Warn M12000 winch that has only 3 control wires not 5.
Cheers Peter.

Peter, My answer would firstly have to be that I have no idea.
I have a Warn 12000 with wireless remote on the front of the Troopie.
If I want to use the wired controller I have to plug it into the winch. (just like most)
The signal receiver for the wireless remote is fitted close to the winch in behind the grill. If I want to use the wireless remote, I need to plug the receiver into the winch, in the same location as the wired ctrlr would be plugged in.
So I'm guessing that you could possibly get hold of a compatible signal receiver with wireless remote, do the appropriate wiring, plug it in & give it a go.......
