Good camp spots in Qld

Does anyone know of any good camping spots between Birdsville and Carnarvon Gorge, Carnarvon Gorge and Townsville?

Lyn there is a good camp site on the burdekin river between Charters Towers and Townsville. You cant miss it. Just over the burdekin bridge on your right. Toilets etc. there. There is another one not as good further down towards townsville at Reid river on the left. Toilets there also. Are you using the clermont road?

As we are NSWelshmen, don't know the Clermont Road? where does it start and end?

Lynn, If you are coming through Roma you will travel through emerald and clermont. North of Clermont just past Belyando Crossing(fuel spot) there is a place called Blackwood Nat.park with camp site. No road markings for park. I would ask at the Belyando for directions. You will no doubt have the park to yourself.
