tow hitch

I have a m416 military trailer just trying to work out what is better

Like the others say noisy but reliable, can't make them quiet unless you get a straight through exhaust :) I if used off road look at a TREG hitch or similar maybe.

There must be something wrong with mine then because it does not rattle. I have a Trigg couplinghttp://www.triggbrs.com.au/catalogue/couplings/75mm-ring.html but I don't know what brand the hook is. It came with a Toyota tow bar so who knows where Toyota got it from.

The ring is a fairly snug fit in the hook so maybe that keeps any noise down but it still moves freely. It is by far the easiest coupling that I have ever had to connect in difficult conditions.

I have had a Pintle hook and ring on a camper trailer for 20 plus years and have never found it particularly noisy as compared to all the other road noises such as 4WD tyres. The Pintle provide the versatility and ease of coupling as well as the opportunity of attaching recovering equipment to fixed point quickly.

thanks roger about your info the only thing that is stopping me is the rattle I no they are tough and easy to hook up
