A couple of posts suggest that Warren Creek Bore provides a reasonable overnight camp between Kintore and Papunya, and we had planned to do this after leaving the Sandy Blight Junction Road.

However, Google Earth shows a number of built structures at this site, and I wonder whether there are people living there. Has anyone any information about this?

Are there any other possible places to camp in a tent somewhere in this region that will be out of sight of the road and communities?

Thanks for any suggestions, Kathie

I don't know about camping at Warren Creek Bore Don and Katherine. We stopped at what I believed was Liebig Bore (bore now disabled), and were were able to stop well out of site of the road. However it may be what is shown as Lizard Bore on Bonzle maps Bonzle Maps. In fact an EO member told me about Lizard Bore for camping, and I think it was probably where we stopped.

The Bonzle map shows Warren Creek (settlement?) where the houses are seen on Google, with Warren Creek Bore being a little further along the track to the north. This map shows what appear to be a tank and a turn around - possibly where people have camped at Warren Creek Bore.Warren Creek Bore?

Google maps of where we stopped overnight. As the new Google mapping will not retain place markers, look in the centre of the map as linked for a circle with a tree in the centre. Warren Creek is off the map a little further to the east.

There are a number of small settlements with two or three reasonably new houses along the route, but it seems they are rarely inhabited.
