Your statements show you really do not know anything about the Disco 4. You need to do some serious research.
For starters the V6 engines in the Nissan and D4 are not the same - the old Nissan 3.0 4 cylinder was certainly a Renault engine and may be the V6 is - I do not know but it is definitely not the Ford PSA engine that is in the Landrovers. This engine was developed by Ford Europe in conjunction with Citroen and Peugeot. This family of V6 diesels can be found in Jaguar, Citroen, Peugeot, Landrover and in 2.7 guise the Ford Territory.
The 2.7 engine is just the first iteration of these V6 engines and can be either single turbo in the Landrovers and Ford Territorys or twin turbo in the Jaguar - the 3.0 versions are all twin turbo and the 3.6 Litre V8 versions are also twin turbo. The D4 only has two versions of the 3.0 twin turbo diesel engines. Not sure what 4 cylinder engines you are talking about but they have never been fitted to a D4 and are probably confused with the Defender engine - completely different.
Re issues about gearboxes and axles I think you are getting confused with some models of up to 50 years ago where LR make axles as the weakest point in the drivetrain as it was easier to change an axle than a gearbox.
Basically the 2.7 TDV6 was in the Disco 3s and very early Disco 4s and later Disco 4s were two 3.0 SDV6/TDV6 engines - a lower output one that replaced the 2.7 and a higher output one that was close in performance to the Range Rover Sport 3.6 TDV8.
No issues with having the EGRs blanked - have a read of the recent thread about blanking a Toyota diesel. The 2.7 (along with the other TDV6 engines) has a 3.5 tonne tow capacity and certainly does that OK - the 2.7 TDV6 and the 3.0TDV6 engines have similar power and torque the the 4.5 litres single turbo Landcruiser TDV8 and the twin turbo Cruiser TDV8 diesel respectively.
Whoever you have been talking too really do not know what they are talking about and you need to do some more research.
Also - remember the D4 is in the same class as the full size cruiser and patrol vehicles - the D4 is larger than a 200 series on the inside and a tad smaller on the outside - so is one level up from the Pathfinder and a far more sophisticated vehicle than a Pathfinder.
