I own a 4.2 Turbodiesel GU Patrol, and a friend of mine has a new series GU with the level adjuster.
There are several things you can do.
You can replace the seat base for the one in the series 2, or if you dont want to keep adjusting it you can add
spacers to the mounting base.
You could also go to a recaro retailer or an ARB
shop and see if you can get the base for the
aftermarket seats.
