Hi all,
Whats everyone's postiton on 4WD Clubs? I am trying to decide if it is worth joining a club. I have been driving off-road for a few years now and i've been perfectally happy on my own or with a mate, but when a friend of mine recently joined a club it got me thinking. Is it worth it? What are the costs? Do you go for a big or small club? Is it worth going for a club that specialises in your type of vehicle? Would i be better off stuffing the lot and continuing on my own? Are many of you guys in clubs, or have you recently quit??? Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Jono.
PS: Im in perth, so if anyone has any additional views on any clubs in perth that would be great.

Hi jono
I like you had been driving 4WD for years , but ten years ago joined a family orientated small 4WD club. The club costs $70 per year. I have found the club to be great, I have been to places that I had not even heard of before joining or areas that I would not want to go by myself. Our club has members of all ages and we all drive different vehicles, all of us are sure that we drive the best regardless of models. I have found the club to be a mine of information on places to go, gear to buy and we have a great time travelling as a group. Being self employed I also find that the club is a great insentive to take a weekend or a few weeks off from work to 4WD. Jono, go to different clubs, try them out and see which club suits you still of driving and the type of trips you wish to go on. regards Ray Wanderin 4 Wheelers Vic.

Jono,
I recomend that you join a 4wd club as the others have said you will hear about places to visit that you have never heard of. Also most clubs have driver training and even though you may have been off road for years there is always something you can learn. Also you will then add your voice to the clubs of Aus. who are trying to stop the push by others to close tracks etc. Last and the most important part is the social atmosphere these clubs have as they are like minded in enjoying the great outdoors.

Hi. I too have joined the strength and joined the Rangerover club of Australia. I have a discovery and while Ilearnt to drive 4X4 in the army I've found the enthusiasm and the fellowship excellent. There are many forum youcan join, trips you can go on with like minded people and learn more about your car.

it's a personal thing but I've found the experience worthwhile and beneficial.

Cheers''
