Jack Adaptors

Hi all,
Does anyone have experience with, or thoughts on the pros & cons of the jack adaptors that slip over the wheel hub and have the protruding arm that the jack lifts against?
Is there any perceived problem with the hub taking the load at this point & in this fashion?
Thanks in advance,
Keith

i can't see a problem, apart from never being able to find anyone that actually stocks them, everyone can 'get one in' for me, but i've never seen one in a store!

I bought a jack adapter from Opposite lock 6 years ago it bent/twisted on first use!

Mates at work strengthened the side plates and it has worked well since. It's important to position the Hi lift so that it will not fall or jam against the body work.
Otherwise its a very quick way of lifting wheels and packing material under them. Woudn't be without it in the recovery kit
Cheers

I made my own (80 series) out of 105mm dia still pipe. Would not be without it. I consider it an essential part of my recovery kit.

My brother and I have made our own based on same design as one that retails is flimsy. His broke first outing which is when we had others made.

Good concept that just requires stronger materials is all

Thanks to all for the usual good feedback. Seeing them for the first time last Saturday at the local shop my first impression was they looked a little flimsy. I guess I'm not alone in that. A piece of schedule 80 pipe should do the job.
Cheers to all..Keith
