It's often a case of "been there too long syndrome"...the owner is a little"aloof and a no nonsense sort of guy"
I was there in June.
The bar girl behind the counter was friendly and at the time, there were a few people there, so it was nice.
Being a lone woman traveller most of the times I have visited, who feels comfortable in the presence of men more than women, I think it makes a difference. In case your wondering why I am by myself. I was on my way to pick up my husband from his work, so we could start off his 2 weeks break, already near where we want to go.
Seems pointless for him to fly
home, only for us to drive back to where he works :)
I've always arrived there later in the day, so there has been a few people about.
Talc Alf cornered me last year..a nice guy..full of knowledge and
well researched opinions. He has quite an extensive knowledge base of the stars and Aboriginal spirituality.
It would be a lonely place to live I'd imagine. Especially in summer!
Cheers
Robyn
