Heading up to
Menindee Lakes in next couple of weeks, I know the roads are currently closed due to flooding, hoping they will open before then. Towing on road caravan, any thoughts or suggestion as to whether it will be OK. At
Menindee what are the best camping sites to stay at ??? Then heading along the Darling route to
Bourke, suggestions once again would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Goldlink,
The best CP style place to stay is
Copi Hollow. Its a lake used by the
Broken Hill Ski Club so there is always water in it. Sites on the water's edge. Otherwise go out to
the Woolshed and turn off to the river's edge campsites. Fire pits and close to the river.
The road to Pooncarrie is good. Dirt with patches of corrugations; just slow down. Bitumen when you reach the
Wentworth Shire boundary. A little bit more dirt after a bit until you reach Pooncarrie.
Get a site along the river (power) and then register at the pub. Not many sites that's why you get the site first!
Bitumen all the way to
Wentworth.
Fort Courage is a basic CP out of
Wentworth.
