Just looking at windows for the van I am building. Both Dometic and Camec have a similar window with pull-up blind and pull-down flyscreen. Camec is cheaper, but has a more limited size range.
Is there anything to pick between the two and does either have any particularly annoying problems - like flyscreens that let midges in?
Thanks in advance
Keith

One bad point with the later model van windows with the pull down blinds and flyscreens is that to adjust, open or close the windows the flyscreen and blind have to be opened letting the bugs in which negates the purpose especially at night.
People also have problems with bugs getting around some of the sliding integral screens in the later style windows and also some report problems with operation as the windows age.
Being an external strut arrangement the can also be opened fully from outside which leaves a bit to be desired in the security department.
You would be better to stick to the old style windout windows and fit your own curtains or blinds.

I've had both types in different vans.

Loved the light block out they both achieved, very functional. I liked the Camec version because it was easy to get the screens off, if something did happen. Never had to do it with mine but a mate had something get down in his and we took it off to clean it out. No problems.

The older wind out windows are still available - See this link. Ditto the sliding windows if you wish to install them on the awning side so you don't hit your head on the open hoppers.

I would 'HATE' to have the new Dometic or Camec fancy windows with he Pull Up's,Give me the maybe Old Fashioned wind-outs any day.

Have them in our current caravan & hope they will see me out with the rest of the Rig,
