Hi. We may be motoring Adelaide to Darwin In July. Have done the Adelaide to Alice, recently, but looking for information for the stretch Alice to Darwin.
First draft of our trip looks like, Alice to Tennant Creek, (Overnight) Tennant Creek to Katherine, (Two nights Katherine) Katherine to Darwin.
Return trip. Darwin to Mataranka, (Overnight) Mataranka to Tennant Creek (Overnight) Tennant Creek to Alice Springs. Three people in a Camry. Can anyone give me some accommodation recommendations please? Places of interest too. Last drove "The Diamond Highway" in 1964. guess things have changed since then. BB

.... and a couple of very worthwhile walks as well. Short detour to the Daly Waters Pub for refreshments and a place of interest. When at Mataranka a visit to Bitter Springs for a refreshing swim in the crystal clear creek is a little bit of magic.
Enjoy your trip,
regards, Mike.

Just a few suggestions
Mataranka - Bitter Springs and Thermal Pool
Katherine - Cutta Cutta Caves, Katherine Gorge (Boat Cruise, Helicopter flight and walks)
Edith Falls - Walks (Sweetwater pool, etc)
Litchfield National Park - Florence Falls, Wangi Falls, Buleys Rockholes, Lost City, etc.
In Darwin go to Crocodaurus Park and do the boat ride.
Jumping Crocodiles Adelaide River.
Don't know what sort of accommodation your are looking for. Suggest you book in advance as July is a busy time in the top end.
