+1 for them but you also need one of these to make it work in parking mode
http://www.blackvue.com/power-magic-pro/
Have installed several and they work really good. Be aware the rear camera is of lesser resolution than the front one.
If you want high res in both you could use these
http://www.blackvue.com/dr650gw-1ch/ for front with WIFI to your phone
http://www.blackvue.com/dr3500-fhd/ for the rear without GPS
They are much cheaper here www.astrobile.com.
I have bought several from them Just make sure you get English versions
Road Guardian also make good ones and the Mini 065 series are also quite good.
Blackvue have the tidiest fitting and are hard to see from outside the car.
I use this to attach them so I can use in a different car when necessary

Have never had on fall off in more than 3 years of use

What vehicle are you going to use it in so I can offer wiring suggestions

They did last week but the 550 is virtually the same just has the light coloured clip.
Has a slightly lower bitrate and has an 8deg wider lens

If you ask them they will have it as they change the stuff on the site regularly.

They didnt have the 3500 for a while but its there now and its an old model.

I have a Blackvue for the front. I bought it with 2 holders and 2 wiring kits which plug into the cigarette lighter, so it is quick and easy to transfer it from one vehicle to another (Land Cruiser & ute). In my 1975 Holden ute the cig socket is live all the time so it works for park mode. But in my wifes' RAV the cigarette socket is live only when the key is switched on, so the park mode is inoperable in your absence. Additional wiring is necessary to make it live all the time.
I keep a spare micro card in my wallet.

If you read my post and follow the second link it will fix the parking problem Leaving a camera on permanently will run your battery flat eventually.
Using a Power Magic will stop that as you can set it to turn off by time or voltage.

You dont need a second card as the camera writes over the oldest files when card is full.
I thought I made a very descriptive post.. Maybe not!!!!!!

Hi Tom,
thanks.
You're right about running the battery flat - once I forgot to unplug it when I got home.
I carry a spare card, as on one occasion the audio message was words to the effect 'format the card', and also if I see an event I want to keep, I replace the card as soon a possible. And cards don't last for ever.

If you have the latest firmware in it just format the card monthly or similar and put it back in the camera. Camera will update it. Or if you are fussy you can reinstall the firmware onto the card and then put it back.
Will stop the message.
Otherwise you can read the card on your computer and just copy the "record" folder to your HDD and you will have it forever.
I did that daily when overseas on a long car trip.

Am running a specially formatted 128gb card in my DR500GW-HD Has been in it for a year now.
