D.C. <span class="highlight">battery</span> help?

When a battery is dead flat most smart chargers will not commence charging. A solution is to hook up two batteries in parallel and then put your charger on. make sure you use jumper leads or other heavy duty cabling to hook the batteries together. Make sure they are in Parallel not series. Positive to positive negative to negative.

Sounds like the battery is so flat that its below the chargers threshold to charge .
Parallel charge 2 batteries 1 partially flat unit and the flat unit . [ The good unit should lift the voltage of the flat battery and enable the charger to work. ]

Highly recommend that u install a low voltage disconnect . This will save u from this situation occurring again .
An additional install is a main battery isolater . This shuts down the whole system preventing parasitic drain as well .
Both of the above are inexpensive upgrades

If you havnt got an extra battery take it to Battery World who will be able to charge it for you. I had one that read 1.6Va after a switch in a car jammed. Took 3 days to recharge but its still going 18 months later.

They did it for free as well but we had bought it there.

Did similar thing a couple of weeks ago thought I had the Engle on 240 but did not have it plugged in properly was showing 10 volts.
Decided to leave it hooked up to the DC-DC charger till we smelt horrible smell 120 amp hour battery was swollen up like a football.
Took about 5 hours to cool down.
