Hi I am not sure if they are open we are expecting rain this afternoon and my neighbor runs a station up that way and was in town Friday and said it has been a wet week for him
he got sick of staying in motels every time they come to town so they bought the house next door so when they come to town it is a much easier
Not sure when you plan on cumming up this way but we have had some good rain but they still expect to run out of drinking water early next year both dams are now dry
it does not take much rain to close the roads here

Hi Greg
You did not say what way you intended to get to
Birdsville?
I can only let you know road conditions for outback South Australia, and it is not good, every dirt road noth of
Marree is totally closed, with the only small section of track between
Cameron Corner and the Strezelecki Tack open, but north and south from there closed.
I know locals from
Clare that are heading up to the Big Red Bash and have had to go the long way via Broken Hil,
Bourke and all bitumen roads to get anywhere near the area.
Seeing that the
Cordillo Downs Road is also closed, it might be the same right through southern Queensland.
All the best and hope that you find a way there.
Cheers
Stephen

Sorry cannot help re Tibbo,
. bu t from what I can see on the QLD and SA road reports the only way into
Birdsville at present is via .
Windorah .
the development road between
quilpie and
windorah was opened to high clearance vehicles today.
I am heading to the big bash in a few days and had planned on going via
Hungerford but the whole sw qld is plenty wet so its blacktop to Charlieville then across. Even
Cunnamulla to
Quilpie via
Eulo is out and its tar all the way..
cheers
Howard

There doesn't seem to be much rain in that area at the moment so roads would be expected to improve.

Kevin

Greg,
If you go to the
Packsaddle Roadhouse
home page at the link below and click on their link to Facebook you will see a map of roads in the
Tibooburra area. Most appear to be open and there doesn't seem to be rain in the area.

Heard there was about 7mm in
Birdsville last night. Not much I know but on top of recent falls, might make the
Windorah-
Birdsville road a bit slippery?

But the added effect of 7 mm should be gone in a day with a bit of sunshine and some wind I would have thought.

Yeah Kevin, probably wouldn't make any difference. Lady in
Windorah said road to
Birdsville was still open last night, and bitumen is open to high clearance vehicles from
Quilpie now.

Weather Channel is saying no rain to speak of in
Birdsville for the next 10 days. I'm watching it closely, as we hope to be there at this time next month. Rain has kept me from doing the
Birdsville Track on two occasions. I am hoping third time lucky.
Cheers,
Kevin
