A compressor fridge does not have to be vented outside.
But the compressor and condenser still need good air circulation for optimum performance and an extra fan can help that. I run one via a 50C thermal switch on the compressor, so it only runs when things get too hot.

Thanks Peter
Would I have to fit an extra 12 volt fan , one to draw in air and one to push the air out internally if I cover the outside 2 fridge vents?

That's a tough question without having any idea what it looks like Martin. Suffice to say the heat must be removed one way or another.

. . . and cool air has to get in.

Is this fridge located outside the vehicle on an open tray ?

When you say in the topic title "dust and dirt coming in under Waco Compressor fridge" what exactly does this mean, from under the tray or floor ?
Normally there is an inlet grated section (or two) and an outlet for air pumped through.

If there's dust getting inside a vehicle causing an issue, then far better to work on keeping that out and the fridge will be fine with an occasional blow through with moderate compressed air.

Our caravan fridge has vents to the exterior. With the angle of the vents, very little dust comes in, and what does settles on the 'floor' around the compressor and can be vacuumed out when we get home. It is sealed from the interior of the van.
