HI,

I currently have a Coromal Seka 505 caravan twin axle with simplicity suspension.
The only problem with this van is that it is a bit small, I'm a big bloke so need some room also it only has a double bed and there is my wife, me and our daughter.

When we travel the girls share the bed and I'm outside in a swag with the dog.

We don't need a off road van/pop up but it has to be able to handle gravel, corrugated roads and be able to bush camp in it, toilet would be nice but not fussed about a shower.

I was very excited when the English Rose said we could buy another van, but reality set in when I realised the Prado's towing limits.

So the question is what do people tow behind their Prado or similar, 2500kg limit.
Its a 2007 diesel 120 series.

I need to sleep 3 with some space, I am currently looking at the Jayco Expanda outback range and the Windsor Rapid.

Thanks in advance,
William

The Cook and I towed a Windsor Rapid behind our 120 series over some dirt/corrugations when we used to take our grand children camping with us. Never had a problem as we kept speed and tyres pressures down. The van was around 14' from memory but wouldn't have a clue now as to it's weight loaded.

Hi William
We have an 18ft Paramount Duet that will sleep 6 comfortably and can be purchased in a really good 4 berth config with toilet and shower. Tows great behind our 120 Prado and weighs in at 2 tonnes. Plenty of second hand ones on the market. When front and rear expanded gives you almost same dimensions as a 24 footer. Not an off roader but handles gravel and most dirt roads without drama. Has good clearance at rear and if careful will go most bush camp spots. Available with eye to eye suspension.
Gotta get out of the swag mate.
Cheers Rod
