Good afternoon
Similar to thread 133168 I have a query about Engels and battery. I run a 32lt Engel in the back of the wagon from the car power but when we stop I connect it to a 120ah battery. This I charge with 100w
solar panels. I have noticed over several days it doesn't quite come back up to full.
Can I add another 60 - 80w
panel with it's own controller via a double adapter lead i.e. 2 Anderson plugs to one. I realize probably not the best way but I don't feel like forking out for anymore than I have too.
Thanks in advance

Hi Geoff H18,
While not answering your question directly, what sort of
solar controller do you have.
I just changed my controller from a PWN type to a MPPT type and found a greater charge coming into my battery.
It seemed to charge much better, may be that is an option.

Why not buy some cable and charge it from the car easily done ,plenty of information on site you do not need a fancy set up.

Gday
I presume you have a controller/regulator on your existing
panel?
You should just attach the second
panel into the same controller , providing it is big enough amperage.
I have a
panel on my vehicle and an Anderson plug to the regulator to go to an extra
panel, wether that's out camping or
home under cover, works great!
Cheers

Addition to the existing power is an option. However that totally depend on how you wire two panels up, in parallel or series.
My advice would be two interdependent
solar systems running on the
solar panel. It might be something to do with the regulator, so you could get another one to try first. But like I said, it's always better to keep up two
solar panels to charge your battery.
There are a couple of
solar panels in the market, megavolt, waeco, Aussie batteries, however, you need to get some good ones. My method would be an enquiry comes first to the seller, see if they understand your situation.
Also, how many amps your fridge draws? That's the point.
