Is there anything to be concerned about travelling this road with a 2005 78 series Troopy towing a 15ft 2008 Supreme Territory. My navigator says 7.5 hours travel time for 223 km, that's an average of 30 km/hr. Is the road really that bad?

Thanks for any advice,
Pete

Drop an email or a call to the people at Cameron Corner - they travel that road and are very helpful. A couple of years ago when I did it was pretty good. Did Thargomindah to Tibooburra easily in a day - Rodeo and a TVan.
cheers

We did it in the northward direction in mid June, no dramas whatsoever. Just another unsealed road with some wet patches that weren't at all slippery or boggy and then some corros. 2WD territory.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. We're looking forward to coming back that way after the Birdsville races.

We drove that route about two weeks ago. No dramas at all but quite a few rough stony patches. We were glad of our Stone Stomper. Worth taking it fairly slowly with tyres down a bit. Our speed varied from 40kph to about 70kph at best. We tow a Sunland Patriot 20.5 ft with a 100 Series LC 2006.
Camping was great at the waterhole at Noccundra and the pub did a good meal. The country was looking lovely with lots of flowers and birds.
However there has been general rain since. Today most routes out of Thargomindah are closed. This rain may affect the roads you wish to travel. Check carefully for closures and changed conditions. John and Lynne

I found it really enjoyable, great outback scenery with a great drive and very little traffic we took two days and didn't pass another car.
