We all chuckle wryly and knowingly when the inevitable stories of tourists lost or stranded in the Outback occur. However it seems Aussies are not immune to a bit of stupidity while overseas. It's not the heat that's the problem...it's recognizing that
it can get pretty cold at altitude in a foreign country.
Llost Australians chilling experience.

What I liked about this article was the statement and quote.
"We as New Zealanders, we need to do better by our visitors."
It was no different to what our approach to tourist drivers.
It is good to see a bit of positive and not the, they should know and how stupid they are.
Now you have me wondering what thongs I should pack for the trip.

There's a basic problem to overcome.....they go "tramping" in NZ and we don't do that here and so have no idea. It's bushwalking you Kiwi types. Stop confusing visitors from other countries, even those with notably higher IQ levels like Australia. Someone could get hurt by your use of fancy pants terminology. Rant over. :-)

We don't have bush....we have proper lush green scenic forest and lots of different trees rather than just Gumtrees. No wonder Aussies get confused and lost in it. Lol. And talking of IQ...as ex Prime Minister Rob Muldoon once said everytime a Kiwi Tradie moves to Australia it raises the IQ of both countries. Cheers

You may have trees but it's a pity you ate most of your animals. My Kiwi friends crap their pants if I even mention snakes or spiders. :-)

What animals?? NZ had no indigenous mammals apart from seals etc. That is why the bird life was so unique and dominant. Imagine going "tramping" without having to worry about snakes, spiders and scorpions etc. Actually the animal which has modified our native forests most is an Australian...the O'possum. He has no natural predators and has multiplied disastrously. I've been spotlighting in NZ and shot 20 or 30 an evening. ...and dare I mention it...we don't eat our national animal. lol.
On the other hand we had traveled around NZ maybe 6 times and seen it all....we've traveled around Australia extensively and have still got so much to see.
