URGENT CONTACT NEEDED

Thankyou to those who have emailed me in response to this post.

Unfortunately Simon damaged his phone and is using landline to contact family. He has setup a contact schedule which he met on the weekend.

Unfortunately, he is not due to make contact again for at least 2 weeks.

It is urgent that he contacts his sister in Perth.

I posted this on the ExplorOz Facebook Page yesterday and I see that its had 166 shares already. People power is amazing - well done to all of you that shared it. I'm sure his family will be very thankful for all your help spreading the word.

Just a quick follow up.

Despite all the help from the ExplorOz family, Tasmanian Police and Tasmanian Parks Service, we have unfortunately not been unable locate Simon as yet.

His usual travel style is to park up and hike and camp for a few days before returning to his vehicle and moving on to his next adventure.

As I mentioned before, he is currently relying on land based communication due to his phone being damaged and is not due to make contact for another week or so.

If you can please share this search request with your contacts it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to both the ExplorOz family and those who shared Michelle's Facebook post.

A message was passed to Simon this afternoon and he has made contact with his family.

It was with reluctance that we chose not to post the details of the urgent nature of the need to find Simon as we did not want to risk him finding out from social media or a stranger.

Due to his phone being damaged, Simon arranged to contact his family at regular intervals through his mother. Simon spoke with his family last Sunday while they where all together for a family get together.

On Tuesday, Simon's mother was at a social gathering at a friends house when she suddenly collapsed as she was leaving and without any prior indication or warning. Despite the valiant attempts of her friends (and the paramedics who attended), she was unable to be revived and sadly passed away.

At this stage, I am unsure of the identity of the person who passed the message, but when I can speak with Simon and I can identify them I will more than happily purchase them a "Life Membership" to ExplorOz both in appreciation and in memory of his mother.

On behalf of the Hardiman family I again extend a huge thankyou to all who assisted in this quest.
