Sometime ago I bought online and EGR blocking plate and upper crank case breather kit. i have lost details of where to buy these. Does anyone know where to get them now.
Secondly I am told that an oil cooler for my 200 series L/cruiser's auto gear box is "essential" as I do a lot of towing with my 3 1/2 ton van. What is the consensus on this?

You can get EGR plates on Ebay, not sure about breather kits.
Re the gearbox, just tow in S4 and temps will stay around 60 degrees.
If you tow in S5, S6 or D, temps will be at least 20 deg higher.
No need for a cooler.

There's already a big transmission oil cooler on the 200 series. But
mine still got over 100 degrees and even more tow in in low range. I installed a Richards Transmission Lockup kit and it dropped the temps by 10-30 degrees and stopped the cruise control from hunting through the gears as
well. Saves fuel too.

Does the 200 series have a transmission temp gauge as standard? I have fitted external gauges to my atf and coolant lines in LX470 and Land Rover.

No transmission temp gauge on the 200 series. But you can set a Scangauge to read it.

I find towing in 4th overcomes all the hunting problems. Only shift to 5th if the conditions are right, usually no head or side winds.
