Planing a trip in November to the Buckland Valley and would like to travel across to
Talbotville,
Dargo and then back to
Melbourne, but its a long way back up Tea tree track if its to deep to cross at
Talbotville, any one crossed it in the last few weeks.
thanks David M

Call Parks
Dargo office a week or so before you leave. They sometimes take a few days to get back to you but will have a pretty good idea. They use the
bridge in
Dargo as a reference guide for what is crossable upstream.

I towed the Tvan out of Wonnangata, up Wombat Range Track, then Cynthia Range, down Station Track, and across to
Talbotville. It went
well but I wouldn't do it if their was a hint of a hint of a hint of rain.
I have taken it in and out of Wonnangatta to the west a few times without problems too.

Hey Dave,
I was up there a couple of months ago and Tea Tree track has been closed off. Found it overgrown and barricaded off with earth mounds at the start of the track up on the ridge.
Had to back track and use the tracks into Wonangatta to get back to
Dargo.
Cheers
Steve

We are planning to do the full Loop in 2 weeks,
Dargo Talbotville, Wonnangatta, Zeka, Howitt and down Billy Goat.
Well that's the plan, accompanied with contact numbers for local info near the time.
The whole East Gippsland region has experienced wild weather with floods and trees down (see "River Levels") so while we have a 4WD not a boat a contingency plan is ready. Hopefully it will fine up, Fallen tree's cleared off, rivers recede and the BBQ lit :)
As Ned said, "Such is life"

Good news Sigmund,
I've received info that Davies Plain, where we go early December and not that far away from Wonna', had 1300mm of rain this winter and discussions would take place with Wayne (
Tom Groggin) and Parks re Davies Plains Track Bulldozer repair - all Funds dependant.
River markers are were 2.6m at
Dargo and just over 2m near Crooked River.
I was advised by locals to take plenty of sharp chains and water-wings :)
Hopefully a fortnight will see some sun out
Might have to send David M an invoice for any Track
Clearing I may have to do ;)
Cheers
